Illegible Kindle Formatting

Hi, would be great to read this Kindle book, but you cannot. The ebook uses a symbol for the chess piece when describing a move. So Bxh3 becomes .xh3 because the symbol is the size of a pinhead. Changing the font size doesn't change the size of the symbols.

Take a walk inside Fischer's head.

A great look at how Fischer moved and thought during his games. I picked up some valuable pointers just within the first ten pages. A worthwhile read for chess players at any level. I've been playing for 55 years. I highly recommend this book.

like Dvoretsky's Endgame Manual

This should be on the bookshelf of any competitive player. It's one of the classics, like Dvoretsky's Endgame Manual, or My System. Fischer's games have been analyzed to death, but this is a chance to see how his mind worked while playing them.

Beautiful!

Love this book! A must have for any chess aficionado. I went through every game on my chess board from start to finish while relishing Fischer’s incisive, often pithy, commentaries. Wonderful to witness on your favorite board the beauty of chess piece arrangements as they dance to the final death of the king.

Entertaining

Very instructive, even amusing at times. His analyses of possible lines are impossible to follow without playing them out on the board, at least for mortals like me. Can he really see that far ahead? I guess a world champion can. The position is shown fairly often, so it's easy enough to keep up while playing through the games, and it's fun to think, "What would I do?" We even agree, once in a while. I prefer the notation for the moves in Alekhine's book, where they used capital letters for the pieces instead of the little pictures, which don't show up very well on my old Kindle, but are fine on my Samsung phone. A very good book for the chess student or fan.

Bobby Fischer's great book

Fischer's annotations are as good as it gets. The only slight problem for me is the figurine algebraic notation. The book was originally published with descriptive notation, which is what I grew up with. For me even regular algebraic notation would have been better. Still this is a book that belongs in every chess player's library.

Excellent choice for learning Bobby's style

This is very cool book that lets you read exactly what a chess expert was thinking whilst playing. Even though the material is a bit above my head at times, it's very fun to use a board & follow along.

Great condition. Inspiring

Great condition.Inspires, motivates me to study chess .Peter biyasas a chess player said He reached international master level by reading only 2 books,This book and rook ending by Levenfish and Smylov according to Wikepedia. On the back it say Perhaps the most inspiring and Influential chess book of ALL TIME,i wouldnt be surprised if it is. One should read a book perhaps Lev alburts Comprehensive Chess course ,chess fundamental by jose capablanca and maybe a 1 or 2 more product that give Foundation with no holes. Not stricly neccessary as long as it inspires you like Peter biyasas.

Most Valuable Thinking inside

I do own another Bobby Fischer book - it's the book that helped me progress the most and in a very short time - I started seeing things!!!This one is even better, as you can follow (in some measure, we are talking about a genius here!) the thinking behind the games described here. It's invaluable as I find that it's not about what happens on the board (and you get in all the books) but it's about what doesn't happen on the board and the thinking behind what you finally see on the board. Wonderfull...

Well it's Bob's 60 mem game's - nuff said

Well - this book is of course brilliant and always has been. The most important elements for me are that this book has not been messed with and has all the original text unlike some previous versions - and that it's in algebraic which I find far more easy to read than descriptive notation.

Recapturing my youth

I had a translated version in 20th Century which I enjoyed very much. This is part of fond memories of carefree olden days.

Fischer at his best

A collection of games annotated by the most charismatic chess player of all time. Some of the most interesting games are the ones that Fischer lost, in particular to Tal. A must-have for any chess player.
