Helped me use my charcoal leftovers
I collected my leftover charcoal bits (the ones that were more than about an inch long) and layered them under the element, then more over it, ensuring that charcoal was touching every part of the element.After 15 minutes I unplugged it and took it away, heaped up/mixed the coal and gave it 30 seconds of fan waving air.It was burning merrily.So I have found this useful both for fresh charcoal and for reusing the slightly bigger leftover bits from previous bbqs.
