This is a powerful extract. If you're looking to use it as an antidepressant as I was, this item may be too strong. The dosage that was studied in double blind placebo controlled studies was 30mg which proved to be effective. A dose this high may induce mania in some as other studies have shown. Unless you have other reasons to take this supplement, say, after consulting with a medical professional, it may be best to avoid it to avoid unwanted side effects. Then again, that goes for most supplements anyway.

Love this brand, and the saffron really helps me stay calmer. I take it daily and sometimes before bed. This is the best one I have tried so far, and feel the quality is worth the money. Such a great product!
