Franklin Sensors ProSensor 710+ Stud Finder with 13-Sensors, Wood & Metal Stud Detector/Wall Scanner, Built-in Bubble Level

It is a testament to all the other stud finders I have owned that I feel compelled to write a review when I find one that actually does what its supposed to do. I've lost track of how many stud finders I've owned over the years but until this one none of them have worked. They can all detect a stud behind the dry wall sometimes but then you recheck the same area and the stud has mysteriously vanished. Or you detect no stud so you attempt to use a dry wall anchor and fine yourself trying to hammer it into a stud that has mysteriously appeared. This one shows you where the stud is and how wide it is and if you recheck it it shows you exactly the same stud, same width, same position every time. I don't care if this is double or triple the price of those other ones I've owned its worth every penny.

It works! But if it doesn't turn on, make sure you are using a non rechargeable battery. I had 2 AA Duracell coppertop in there initially but after a couple years then tried to use it, it wouldn't turn on, thought it was broken and tried to use rechargeable eneloop batteries but it's still not working. Had to look it up on the Q A section and remembered this only uses alkaline

Works by sensing the change in density of the wall to indicate wooden struts and pipes. Saving me grief and frustration when taping is not accurate

Not easy to read. Now that metal joiners are near studs it shows a stud but I hit meta,l not wood. Not the product's fault but you have to be a pro to use this. Well made product though

I have used many stud finders over the years and this one is by far the most accurate. It has not given a false positive or false negative. Absolutely spot on.
