One of the Best Bass Strings out there!
I used these for 35+ years, recently I figured Iād try a set of DR Black Beauties BKB5-40 since I had heard so much about them and I used them for a very short time, never was that satisfied with them so I ended up going back and purchasing a set of my Rotosound RS665LC which I had on my basses before. Not sure if Iām just so used to using the Rotos but I decided at this point from now on Iām just sticking to my Rotosounds brand and nothing else..

Cheap but fantastic
I absolutely love this brand of strings. I bought a jazz bass from guitar center and it had these strings. They stayed perfect for 5 years before I replaced them. I now put them on almost all of my bass guitars.

My favorite for bass
I've been using Rotosound bass strings since 1976, I love the tone, nothing else sounds or records like these. We do rock music so take that into consideration. These strings are very very bright sounding, they cut through a rock band in a great way and have amazing sustain.I always liked the sound Chris Squire from YES got, he used Rotosound bass strings. They only stay bright and great sounding for about six weeks, then they go into a deader kind of tone that is useable but not my favorite. When we're recording I love a fresh brand new set of these on the bass.Amazon has great prices on Rotosound bass strings. I use the four string version of these on my 51 P Bass, same gauges except without the low B string. These are great.Good luck and good music to all.

Mostly Hype...Very rough on fingers
I bought these based on the reviews hype and that some of my favorite players claimed to played them. Sure, it's cool to play the strings our rock and jazz favs played, but in truth, I've never played bass strings that were more rough and distracting to play with. The tone was rather bright (if that's what you prefer), but they were not enjoyable to play, and the experience is very much a part of it for me as a performer. To me, they felt like playing with "barbed wire." That is an over-statement, but the analogy still holds true. I took them off after a day in preference for Fender 7250Ms or Ernie Balls. I'm a newer bassist, but have performed in bands and performed on stage as a guitarist for decades, for reference. If you have a different opinion, then enjoy! To each his own. Not for me.
