Finally a proper ie monitor for everyday use
Up till this day I was using my Sony MDR-EX310LP ie headphones since 2011 (YES A 11 yearold set 3-4x a week for workouts). I was reluctant to buy any junk. I can't stand over-the-ear headphones as they put too much pressure on my skull behind my ears or on my ears like Beats headphones or Sennheiser's HD25, in ear headphones are the most comfortable for me. After 3 days of reading reviews about the Sennheiser IE family, specially the 100 Pro, 300 and 400 pro I finally decided to buy the IE300. This one came up for an unbeatanle price in the black friday deals for £114 instead of £259. I don't need bluetooth and you can send much more power through the wires to your earphones and you'll never run out of juice nor will lose connection. The 7mm driver is the same in the IE400 and IE300 but the chamber is a bit different so it was a bargain for £114 compared to the IE400's £350 price. As many yt reviewers mentioned the silicone tips are useless, first I thought I bought a dud. Then swapped over to the biggest foam tip and it came alive. However it still wasn't that precise fit in my right ear so I swapped the foam tips to my trusty Sony Mdr-ex310LP's Large foam tip and voilá! Bass is present with wonderful mids and highs!Connected to my laptop (zero EQ presets) and holy mackarel!!! I started listening Rappers Delight from The Sugarhill Gang oh my God! You can eve hear the drummer's bass pedals working! The amount of bass in this song is tremendous!!!I'm sure the 124dB spl is there if you have a good amplifier or playing music on your laptop, the foam tips close out most of the ambient noise even if you use them with your mobile or a media player so should be good for workout or on the go . The cables are high quality thick ones so I guess these will serve me for a decade, comfy and can't even feel their weight. My wife mentioned she couldn't hear any music I was listening with this but she did when I put my MDR-EX310LP in so oviously there is no sound leak. I didn't even had to set the EQ on my phone as usual so it is quite an audiophile's dream to hear all the sounds of a record all the time.Remember to use 1 size bigger foam tips as this was assembled in China mainly for the Chinese market (although the drivers are still made in Germany). For £114 is unbeatable if you are looking for quality sound.

Great Sennheiser sound with a little extra fun
These are great IEMs, I have a small collection of IEMs most around this price and a few just under double. This is one of the most competently tuned IEMs I've heard. Within seconds of playing it I was reminded of the Sennheiser open back headphone I had many years ago, obviously it does not sound exactly like it but it has characteristics in common that I haven't heard from any other headphone. With many IEMs you can sense the sound inside your ears but these often sound like headphones. It has substantial bass but not excessive, it is never muddy or bloated. Treble is never piercing or screechy. Like most people I have eclectic taste and have listened with these to a very wide range of music, they represent it all well without being middling. I mainly stream music from Qobuz and Apple music. I've listened to techno, ambient, stoner rock, film scores, anime soundtracks, jazz, classical in it's many forms, trad Japanese and Korean, Blues and many others, enjoyed it all.If you have seen some online reviews you may have heard complaints about the earhooks and comfort. You just insert the earpieces, tuck the earhooks behind your ears and pinch them closed, they give me no trouble at all, these are one of the most comfortable IEMs I've used, once they warm up from skin contact I can barely feel them. Some complained about the cable being microphonic, it is no more microphonic than many other cables and they handle a lot better than most. Once music starts I don't hear it. The ear tips are actually pretty great and I can tell some thought went into them. They all worked well, I was surprised to find I liked the foam tips, similar foam to Campfire Audio's. I've been trying different tips currently Spinfit cp100 which adds a touch more bass as did the Final Audio E types but, you don't need to spend £20 on extra tips to enjoy them, I already had some, nor do you need a different cable. As a whole package when you open it, it looks very impressive, like quality and a lot more professional than most of the popular IEMs in this price range. Photos don't do it justice. If I had not heard of this model and was given it as a gift I would assume it had a higher price. It would make a great gift, the sound is instantly impressive. It is very easy to power, using an IFI Go Blu it is loud at about 35% volume, about the same with a BTR5 and ES100, my Sony phone gets them loud at about 60% volume so an inexpensive usb DAC is more than enough.I am obviously very satisfied with them but, they've got me wondering about that IE900.
