I have a stand along deep fryer but the basket only does so much. its basically useless for items that fall in. This has worked great for fishing those out or doing light/careful frying of items that are easy to "overdo". Despite the "thin" wire look its very sturdy

Love this. I've wanted one for awhile and finally got it. It's great for cooking or even steaming food. I do have to worry about it getting too hot since its heat resistant. It's very sturdy and its the perfect size for pots and pans. It's also a great stainer when used to remove food from oils or hot water. It's so easy to use and im glad I finally broke down and got it.

I would use this for just about any pasta dish where I needed to fish macaroni out of boiling water, especially since I can control the amount of pasta water I bring along with me. If you're using this for fishing fried foods out of hot oil, make sure you hover over the pot or fryer for a while, or drain over a wire rack and baking sheet with a paper towel under the rack to drain off any more oil.The sturdy construction and simple design make it easy to use, but it's a little big for my cookware storage. The heft is nice, and the handle is just thick enough to comfortably hold, but it's definitely a little alarming when you first see the utensil.

This was a gift and they loved it. They use it to cook in their wok, and I got to sample the first meal made with it - delicious! It helps to separate veggies and tofu from the liquid, or put some vegetable up higher away from the heat and let others cook more. Easy for serving without spilling. Made very well, fits in one's hand nicely, is easy to hold without feeling fatigued because it is strong but quite light, and seems as though it will last a long time. Think I may have to get one for myself now :)
