This generic HP battery is working well. My original battery was only giving me about and hour before it would drop to 60% and then die on me. Once I got the computer open and found the model number (a must for these HP's) it was easy to order what I needed. It's not as simple as looking up a battery for the computer model number. There are lots of YouTube videos on how to do this replace the battery. I saved in the neighborhood of $150 by doing this myself. There are a few tiny screws involved but if you take your time and take a picture before you take the old battery out, you're good to go. Very happy with this purchase.

The package included all necessary tools to crack open the case and to remove the battery. The instructions were very clear, but I did watch a couple of videos first. I highly recommend following the initial battery charge and recharge instructions in order to develop the best charge. It is more scary than difficult to replace the battery. I watched 3 different videos and I searched by the full laptop model number (HP 15 EF) and went slow and easy. My laptop run on the battery for hours now, not minutes.

This battery fits my HP laptop. Installation is a pain because unlike previous laptops, you have to take the whole thing apart. There are YouTube videos to help. I got it installed and it worked well at first, powering the computer for a few hours before needing to be plugged back in. But here I am 8 months later and when the battery gets to just above half full, the computer suddenly shuts off with no notice at all. You might wish to try another brand.11/13/24: It is now shutting off at 85%. Just last week it lasted a couple hours and a notice popped up with a low battery warning. Also my mouse isn't working right so I think the battery is swelling.11/20/24: Still waiting on warranty replacement, meanwhile I can't unplug the computer at all because it shuts off within a few minutes while battery still shows 92%.
