This carrier appears to be very sturdy. The cats took turns sitting in it, inspecting it, batting at each other, etc. The sherpa bed is a comfortable covering for the hard board on the bottom. Extra padding may be required for longer rides than just to the vet. We like the multiple ways to open the carrier which makes it much easier to get a cat in and out when going to the vet. The zippers operate smoothly, and have double closers so you can position them in multiple ways. Our cats are seniors and not as rambunctious as younger cats, but I would have no qualms using this for a more active cat. We are glad to have opted for the larger size so our cat has more room. The metal framing is a plus and really adds to the sturdiness. If we had to, we could fit two cats in this. For reference, the cat pictured is about 13 pounds. Our cats weight range from 13 to 17 pounds.Would definitely recommend this carrier.

I am going to a friends for Thanksgiving. I have a dog given to me by someone whose relative passed. She hates everyone but me. My friends lovingly call her Kujo. She's a 9 year old, 11 lbs, long haired Chihuahua. So I needed a carrying case for her. Very quickly, while a work, on my iPhone I found a lightning deal...It was an incredible price..21.97? I think? So I ordered it. I usually research more...but I was a work....etc. Holy cow! It came just now and it is incredibly well made! I think I got the greatest deal!! I'll use more often than just Thanksgiving because it is so nice! Purchase the carrier...you will like it.

I recommend getting a fluffy insert to make it more comfy. It is suitable for most airlines. It's fairly soft compared with other brands. I prefer the structure and compartments of "sherpa" brand, but it's a little too small even for my 3lb teacup poodle. This one allows her to stand comfortably. I still use sherpa for some things with her as it is more durable and stable than this one, but I like having both.

Airline approved. Fits under seat and my dog is ok in it despite being a bit on the small side. Like the ease of opening sides for ventilation.

I purchased this to carry my son's puppy back and forth from his house to mine every day. I watch her during the day. She is a miniature Schnauzer but acts more like a piranha! This carrier is proving to be a valuable asset and she has yet to be able to chew threw the mesh. I highly recommend giving this a try!

Good size and sturdy enough for my hyper Shih Tzu

I love the dimensions of this carrier. It's very easy to carry by my side vs some of the wider ones. I use it for chihuahuas from 4-8 lbs and they ride comfortably. The ones that are taller and closer to 8 lbs can't stand up and move around too much but it's perfect for transporting. We've done up to 5 hour road trips and they were content to curl up and nap. My 4 pounder loves his and sometimes sleeps in it at night. I put a towel or small blanket inside depending on the size of the dog.
