Oman, United Arab Emirates Geographical Map Paperback – Folded Map, 26 Feb. 2007

This is the best available map of Oman. It would have been very useful to us had it arrived, as 'guaranteed', by February 10th. Unfortunately it wasn't delivered until we were already in Oman. The Rough Guide to Oman would also have been very useful had it arrived by the 'guaranteed' date.PS we had another guidebook called 'Oman: Jewel of the Arabian Gulf' which cannot be recommended. The pictures are nice but there is very little specific practical information in there, and much of that is wrong. More practically useful is 'Out and about in Oman' by Russ Darlington. For walking and canyoning 'Adventure trekking in Oman' is good, but seems to be available only in Oman, not in the UK.

Only problem is that the scale is too small. For example, I wish to visit several birdwatching sites close to Salalah but they just don't show up on the map.

Not nearly as much information as I'd expected and generally not very clear. Scale quite small if using for driving around the country and there was no large scale section for Muscat and the capital area. I thought expensive for what it provided.

Considering that is is hard to find a good map of Oman, this one is OK. However, many of the roads have changed and many are not shown on this map. It was useful to have the names in both English and Arabic. Still worth taking.
