Samsara Herbs Fo-Ti Extract Powder (8oz/227g) (He Shou Wu) - 20:1 Concentrated Extract

I have tried other Fo-Ti powder extracts & this one appears to be the most potent & best quality over others. I use mine in all kinds of recipes like protein shakes & keto coffee cakes. It isn’t coffee, of course, which is a plus as caffeine has been shown to inhibit collagen production (the anti-aging hype of caffeine products is just clever marketing).I use Fo-Ti to help manage my asthma symptoms which I have had for over 20 years & I don’t need to take either of my inhalers or any other medication when I use this powder with Bio-Allers outdoor allergy (naturopathic) & bee pollen with royal jelly capsules. I used to need allergy shots plus my inhalers (in addition to prescription asthma management pills) so when I say this is potent and pretty amazing stuff, I mean I swear by it. I have not taken any allergy shots for several years & no longer require my inhaler to breathe. I did try several other Fo-Ti powders and always had to take my inhaler with those so clearly this one is the most effective, at least for me.

I actually purchased this for its uses in Western Herbalism, which is to tune the ligaments (both toning and relaxing where needed). I know that it's also considered as an overall youth-maintaining tonic in Chinese Medicine, although it's mainly used for the effects it has on hair.The effects are quite gentle and probably cumulative, so don't expect to be wowed right off the bat. However it does seem to be helping over the month that I've been taking it. I also like the fact that it's made by cooking it with black beans which is the traditional eastern way. I don't know exactly what this adds, but I respect Chinese Medicine's long history and accumulated wisdom.I've taken Solomon's Seal (its name in Western Herbalism) before--on that was not prepared with black beans, but it didn't seem to do very much at the time. To get the full effect, I would make sure to do what's best with diet, exercise and sleep. Diet is very individual and takes some experimentation. I've recently realized that wheat is inflammatory for me, after 46 years, and removing it has also made a difference in helping my joints and ligaments.

This a quality Fo Ti extract powder and probably one of the best values for the quality. I use about 1 tablespoon a day and I find it mixes well with my juices, smoothies, and coffee. I can definitely feel the effects of more energy and higher libido. It's suppose to turn your hair dark but that's not exactly happened, but then I never expected that when I purchased. I have tried other Fo Ti products and they have a light color and taste like black beans. This one has a much darker color and it takes more like the herb and not what they ferment it in. Overall I would buy this again.
