Nice quality and useful adapter
I could only test this with a laptop and portable devices going into an HD monitor, so I cannot test the higher theoretical specs of this adapter, but what I could connect worked fine without issue. Nice quality adapter, no issues so far.

Works well
Item title: Cable Matters 80Gbps USB C to DisplayPort 2.1 Adapter, 16K@60hz, 8K@240hz, 4K@960Hz and HDR Support - Thunderbolt 5/4, USB4 Compatible with VR Headset, MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, XPS, Surface ProDelivered price with Prime: £27.99How is it packaged?: Retail BoxA brand you can trust, I've bought many CM items over the years for the office. Very good quality, lovely presentation with retail box. High price but in this instance a) you know where you stand with quality, b) reliable and a proper brand c) You know the standards will always meet manufacturer guidlines and the specs will not be 'made up'. Here I tested it with my M4 Mac Mini and it works well. I havent got any display equipmentto go to 16k though so can't comment on that at present.

It does as it claims
This display adapter might cost a bit but you are getting what it claims to do. 16K resolution isn’t something most people will need but it is backwards compatible so lower resolutions are fine. The quality is very good. I’d not expect this to break easily at all. Certainly not from being in a bag or backpack. It’s robust and the internals should be good as well, being as it from a reputable brand.I’d hesitate to recommend this to anyone that doesn’t need 16K resolution as there are cheaper options but if you do then this does it all.

Overkill? - More like future proofing!
This claimed "80Gbps" USB-C Thunderbolt 4 adapter is the first adapter I’ve encountered that can potentially handle a 16K display. It comes packaged with a small leaflet, but no detailed instructions specifically about the cable. This adapter supports DisplayPort 2.1, which theoretically allows resolutions up to 16K if you have the necessary equipment and display. For those without a 16K setup, it can still manage 8K at 240Hz or 4K at 960Hz, provided your monitor or TV supports these specs. DisplayPort 2.1 also includes DP Alt Mode and USB 4 compatibility, maximizing Thunderbolt 4’s capabilities. The typical data rate is 40Gbps, but with Thunderbolt 4’s eight-lane design, it reaches a combined throughput of 80Gbps, pushing the current limits of speed. It’s also backwards-compatible, so if your device only supports lower standards, it can drop to 20Gbps as needed. Whilst this seems like a waste, you are only future proofing.DP 2.1 is designed for both high resolutions and dependable output, which is especially valuable for video editing and gaming at ultra-high resolutions. The cable is compact for its capabilities and works well with Mac, PC, or even VR setups if you need high data transfer with stable display output. I can’t test it at 16K myself to confirm its theoretical resolution, but it has performed flawlessly with 2x 4K displays and 1x 1440p display so far.Pros: Supports up to 16K resolution, DP 2.1 and Thunderbolt 4, 80Gbps, compact design. Cons: Requires a compatible display and equipment to fully utilize, no additional drivers needed.Cons: Just literally the price to be honest.
