SleepRight Dura-Comfort Dental Guard – Mouth Guard To Prevent Teeth Grinding

I buy these for my sister and she loves this dental guard. She uses it at night and sometimes during the day. It is comfortable and easy to use. The only caveat I would make is that this guard is NOT for those people who severely grind at night or during the day. For severe grinding I recommend a night guard lab such as, J&S Dental Lab where you can obtain several varieties of dental guards (depending on your level of grinding) at a much cheaper price than your dentist (cost me $400 two years ago). Amazon has several sellers and they run about $130 without add-ons. Don't be put off by having to make your own mold, it's really easy and the worst that could happen is that you'd have to redo. This is the way I go because of the price factor and the quality remains the same as if my dentist did it. I know I digress but there are degrees of grinding and the right night guard can make a difference. I find that a lower guard is more comfortable for me. I started out with a top night guard and never did like it 100% so switched to a lower guard.

This is my 2nd time purchasing this product. The first one still works great, but I thought it was time to replace it after more than 2 years of use. I have tried many night guards over the years, and none have worked as well as this one for me. Once this guard is inserted into your mouth, you have very little awareness that it is there. It has 4 different adjustment notches to get just the right fit. The rear resting pads only come into contact with your very back teeth. You have no sense that your entire mouth is being covered by something. I couldn't be happier with this guard.

Following diagnosis of mild sleep apnea, I have used this product for years...may have purchased as many as 16 times because of the self-adjusting design. (My daughter's $2000+ custom appliance gave her TMJ agony, but I have never had a problem with SleepRight.) I find the smallest setting most comfortable and the Dura best for long wear. When my most recent purchase arrived from Amazon, I found it was made of a newer kind of clear material that turns out to be sturdier, comfy-er and more attractive even than the good stuff used in previous versions. I admire a manufacturer who keeps improving on a good thing, so I am a devoted fan.

This dental guard is SUCH a great idea, and such a great alternative to fitted guards that cost hundreds of dollars (and need to be replaced if dental work requires it). It was actually more comfortable than my old, fitted guard -- EXCEPT ... it has an adjustment mechanism that extends up above the gum line for the upper teeth; on the right side, that mechanism rubbed painfully against my gums. It's painful enough that after 2 weeks, I couldn't wear it. I was swamped at work and not able to return the guard within 30 days. I've just ordered this company's "ultra comfort" model, hoping that the adjustment mechanism for it has a lower profile. Other than that rubbing issue, this was a really comfortable guard. It stayed in place where it needed to be.

I have an under-bite so I tend to grind my teeth at night. I started using these about 10 years ago and have suffered no new wear to my teeth. I buy one about every 6 months. They are light weight and barely noticeable. The bite pad is very strong, I have tried others where I could still bite down, due to an under-bite because the pads were soft. This holds my teeth about a quarter of an inch open so that no matter how hard I clamp down I would not be grinding teeth in my sleep.A great but, much cheaper and much more comfortable than what you get at the dentist.

My only real complaint about this guard is that the 'wings' on either side of the bite pads are far, FAR too long! They actually ended up rubbing a sore on my gum after one night of use. Instead of returning the guard, I just trimmed them down and my problem was solved. Beyond that, I'm very happy with the SleepRight brand overall, and I'm content with my purchase. I find this style of bite guard to be considerably longer lasting and more comfortable than the boiling water kind I've previously used.

First of all IGNORE my 3-Star rating. Allow me to explain.Of all the years I have shopped on Amazon there isn't a product I was more excited about and had high hopes than this nightgard.After having the guard in my mouth for an hour I was pleasantly surprised how comfortable it was. Then on the second hour I noticed I had a very severe itching on my skin. I do mean a serious itching issue. I nearly broke skin scratching.I took the night guard out and within five minutes the itching ceased. Conclusion: I had severe reaction to a chemical component in the guard.I took notice that more and more companies advertise that their guards do not contain BPA and other known chemicals. However these companies fail to mention that the replacements for BPA are often BPB, and other BP cousins, which are worse.BPA is found in canned food liners and cash register receipts. Just a note of interest.I rated a 3-Star for one reason:. My allergic reaction to a chemical used in the product. Had I not reacted to this product it would have served as an excellent guard.I will be returning this guard for refund which the original order page advertised as RETURNABLE. This returnable notice was the major reason for ordering this product.Go ahead, give this guard a try. You have nothing to lose, especially since there are no other customer reviews referring to an allergic response like I had.

I wasn’t even able to keep this in my mouth for an hour after laying down. First off it was very hard to adjust. I had to really pull one side. It was bulky & moved around in my mouth. I began to feel nauseous. I think it was from the bite pads (which are huge) hitting the sides of my tongue. I do have a small mouth but was really disappointed in this mouth guard & am still looking for one.

Really comfortable and it works amazingly! Great purchase, despite the price!

So far this guard is terrific, no one likes wearing these gadgets but I grind my teeth so it's a must. Unlike other mouth guards this one does not mould to the teeth rather it stays as a barrier as you learn to relax with it while sleeping. It feels less obtrusive than molded guards which are useless unless they hold in place, forcing you to clench teeth together. Sleepright claims they last one year, I hope it's true! So far it's great.

Excellent product. A must have!My only advice is that when you are fitting it in your mouth, ensure that the NARROW POLYMER band in the middle is facing the correct side. On the NARROW band ‘Advance’ is inscribed. When worn with ‘Advance’ facing up (rather than upside down) the guard fits in perfectly.

This product was ordered on a Sunday and arrived by Tuesday! Amazing! Just rinse with water and use.

It's useful but not very comfortable. I prefer the one done by the dentist.
