Swimming pool pump use it to keep my pool dry

Awesome pump for my pool. It’s been 2 seasons now and it works wonders. I leave it on top of my pool cover (solid cover so liquid gathers on top of it) throughout the fall and winter. It’s outdoors the whole time and I’ve never ran into issues with the pump not working.Most of the time issues I had was my neighbors pine tree clogging up the hose.Surprisingly durable for continuous outdoor use.

Drained a winter's worth of water off my above ground pool cover. Maybe 1000 gallons? Never clogged with debris. Easy to set up - just connect a regular garden hose and plug it in. Started pumping at 10:30 am, was done by 3:30pm. Excellent product.

I have left this on my pool all through the winter and it froze and it thawed out and it took the water off the pool and it’s still working so it’s really a good product.This also works to drain deep water it is fully submersible. Worth the money.

So far this pump has been working great but unfortunately like most pumps in the price range there are a lot of plastic parts. If you decide to buy this pump, I highly recommend you replace the plastic 3/4” garden hose adapter with a brass one. The threads on the hose connector were starting to strip after only a few uses, so I replaced it with “Hooshing Garden Hose Adapter 3/4" GHT Male to 1” NPT Male Brass Water Hose Connector” for $8.99 that I found on Amazon and it was a perfect fit. Last year I replaced a Little Giant condensation pump that worked for 24 years with the same brand and model so I am hoping I can get several years out of this pool cover pump. I can only hope!!

Longest-lasting pool cover pump that I have found. We had been replacing another brand pump every 2 or 3 years, this pump has lasted 8 years (and probably would have lasted longer, but I inadvertently tipped it sideways and it ran dry for 10 hours). The simple-but-effective float switch has been much more reliable than the fancy electronic sensing switches on other pumps.- Vegetation occasionally clogs the pump, a good hosing cleans it out.- As others have noted, route the hose carefully - the pump can get air-locked if the hose retains water.- Don't leave it in the water during freezing temperatures - "thermal protection" keeps the motor from burning out, but nothing can stop the ice from cracking the plastic shell.

My previous Little Giant pump finally died after 10 years of service (including Winter), so I decided to buy another one. I purchased this used/reconditioned Little Giant through Amazon to save money versus buying a new model and it failed on the first day of use. It was described as being in mint condition, but out of the box, it looked in worse condition than the 10 year old pump I was replacing. I tried it anyway and as mentioned, it stopped working on the first day of use. My lesson learned - pay the extra money and buy a new pump.

We've had our pool for 4 years and have been through 3 other pumps. I decided to try this one as it looks sturdier than what we were using prior. This pump is nothing short of amazing. It's solidly built, quiet, sturdy, and it pumps a massive amount of water in very little time. I managed to get one on Amazon refurbished, and it's the best money I've spent on pool equipment yet. If you need a pump for your pool cover, I cannot recommend this product enough.
