Well worth the purchase, no regrets
I put a lot of effort into checking out portable AC units. We live on a top floor flat which has virtually a continuous wall of windows that are south facing. Wonderful in the winter for light and warmth, but absolutely terrible in the summer as the flat acts like an oven with an attic acting as a heat retention source above us. We also rent and are in a leasehold flat, so a built in AC isn't an option.I was very resistant to spending so much money on a portable AC unit, however this unit has gone above and beyond. The package includes the AC unit, which although heavy is on castors so call roll around with ease and is easy to move into other rooms if you so wish. It comes with a window seal package (not for up/down or left/right sliding windows but rather hinging open and closed windows which is wonderful, as that's what we have). It comes with velcro to fix it to the window frame, and a strong zip to zip open and closed to put the hose output to it. If you have sliding windows you will need to purchase a specific airtight hose output for your window, but they are easily available and relatively cheap. The size is not too big and not too small, and the look is very chic and is a nice looking unit meaning it won't ruin any interior design - a big pro for me. The noise is not too quiet but not overly loud, and it's a white noise and certainly more of an 'I'm working hard and therefore I'm pumping a lot of air in/out' noise. One thing to bear in mind is that the unit is not one you can plug into an extension cord, so plan this accordingly. Most importantly, it WORKS! Our flat was 27 inside minimum on a 25 degree day, and sometimes 28 well into the night when it's 20 outside. We had a 29 degree day, which felt like 30+ outside, and yet it was a cool 21 inside. Our flat is long, and yet the AC unit pumped cooler air into the hallway also. The running costs are low- about 30p an hour at our energy rate. Absolutely AMAZING. I can actually process thoughts and function like a normal human being, and although I was at first a little worried about the cost, I feel like the cost is certainly certainly worth it and I have absolutely no regrets. This thing is a godsend, I am so happy with my purchase.

Gets the job done
So after unsuccessfully trying evaporative air coolers i switched to getting a proper aircon unit, this item came up in a daily deal, not many reviews but I am so glad went for this.I bought this for my fairly small office which is south facing so in summer becomes a bit of a furnaceSize/Weight: it is heavy so it probably won't be something you lift up and down stairs, but the wheels help with moving it around the house.Style:It's actually fairly stylish compares to some of the other units i looked at and I like the top air vent pushing the air out and this works well getting the air around the room.Noise:Didn't have any false pre-tense here, you are not going to get a quite air-con unit, they don't exist so yes there will be noise. You kind of get use to it it's like a noisy fridge (which is essentially what it is anyway)TIP - If you are using this in an office and concerned about noise while on skype/zoom/teams meetings then i highly recommend you pick up a bit of software called 'Krisp' it cuts out background noise, so good infact that despite the unit being about 2 meters away nobody could hear it.Cooling:This unit does a brilliant job of cooling my room down and only takes about 20mins, after a couple of hours it's actually quite cold in my room but i am sure when the hotter weather comes, this will be a blessing.Would i recommend...absolutely, there is comments here about this not being made by Zanussi and it might not be, but i didn't have any issue finding this product on Zanussi website.

Works right out of the box, and works really well, but please mind the heat extraction hose!
I've made quite a research into portable air conditioners before my purchase, as seemingly there's a huge difference in build quality and performance, especially when it comes to Chinese "no-name" ones. Finding a known branded portable air con with good reviews in UK is quite a challenge, especially if you want it for a reasonable price. This Zanussi seemed to hit all the right spots - 11000 BTU, dehumidifier, night mode, remote, decent price. After using it for a whole week I can only say one thing - it's a real life saviour. My 15 square meter room was crispy cool 21-22 degrees even when it was 29 outside. Before the purchase the room was always above the temperature outside, as when the sun hits my roof, the attic works like a heat retainer... Sometimes it was 31 in the house until 1 AM, when it was already just 20 outside. No more of that!!!!The device is on the louder side when the aircon is on, similar to a small fridge, but I would say it matches the sound levels that a one or two powerful fans would emit anyway, so it's more than worth it!An important thing I have to mention - please think through what will you do with the heat extraction hose and how will you install the hose outlet onto your window. Depending on the window type, as it can be quite tricky, particularly if it's non-standard older (not double-glazed or plastic) windows. The better you seal the gaps around the pipe end, the better results you will achieve. Please note, that if you just push the hose outside the open window without sealing it, your air conditioner will only work up to 20% of it's capability. Because I have old type wooden windows with an opening latch that's protuberant inside and around the frame, I was having serious issues with making it work (as you can see on the attached photo...). Since then, I've ordered a sheet of plexiglass (not visible on the photo) and cut out shape to fit the extraction hose outlet. It hermetically seals the window for the hose outlet and the air con works the way it was meant to. There are plenty of videos on the internet on how to make a plexiglass screen for this purpose, please check them first, before buying to know what you are getting into, otherwise you might be disappointed with performance of the device!A few more things. You get a slide kit/window seal with the device, but it only works well with sliding windows. It can be adapted for some other window types, but not all of them! I wasn't lucky, as advised above, so I've had to do some DIY to make it work. Device comes with a small remote that works well. It also has wheels on the base, so can be easily moved around the house (it's heavy, 36kg!!).Overall: highly recommended for a temp. solutions, and if you cannot install a proper split air conditioner for one reason or another. Also a good idea for a rental flats, as you can take it with you when moving. Installation can be a bit tricky depending on the window type, but if do it properly and seal the window well, it will work like magic!
