Used this elbow to save space behind a new dryer. It worked perfectly and saved about 3 inches of space.

I found this useful because the dryer vent was straight up for me. Without this when the dryer was pushed back the flex hose would deform against the wall. This offers more strength so the flex hose won’t squish against the wall. It’s Made of metal which is good. It also decreases the distance to the vent outlet which for me was straight up, so it was easier to connect the flex hose.

I used this aluminum dryer vent elbow for a dryer in a small laundry room to get the dryer tighter to the wall. It worked well for me and the final venting was more compact and cleaner than what was there.Ease of installation is dependent on the location and the space in the room you have to work on it. In my case this vent elbow fit the vertical vent pipe it connected to as it should, so I din't have to struggle in tight quarters to install and secure it.As for value for the money, I paid what I would expect to pay for an aluminum vent elbow at a big box home improvement store, so I would say it's fairly priced.As for sturdiness, this is an elbow made of aluminum, so it is not as durable against crushing or denting as a steel elbow would be. It is sturdy enough for what it is designed for if even minimal care is taken installing it and pushing the dryer back against the wall.I would buy it again.

My washer and dryer are on my main floor. One room away from my bedroom and I must say I LOVE IT! It’s soooo much easier to get my laundry done with the ease of convenience having my laundry room in the middle room between our bedrooms. I highly recommend this! Lol 😆 ok ok yeah enough about that subject.It’s also the room we keep our robot cat litter box. So our cats visit this room frequently. They at certain times of the day go bat crap, crazy and rip around the house. I think out of boredom due to the fact, it’s too cold to go outside in our state right now.I’ve been having an ongoing problem with them disconnecting my dryer hose vent, causing it to be continuously leaking out into the house. Fogging up my windows adding way to much moisture into our house.I decided to stack our dryer onto the washer to save space. The room isn’t that big. I also used foil tape to try to eliminate as much leakage as possible.It is working out beautifully so far!***also beware when you insert the piece into the dyer hole be sure to push it in all the way until it stops. I don’t think I was getting mine that far in before. I didn’t realize it could go in that far. It was a lot easier to see that with the dryer on top of the washer bring it up to my eyesight more then before trying to get at it next to the floor when not sacked.And I like the nice angle which also SAVES MORE SPACE! ❤️I would definitely recommend this product.I did search and search and this one is exactly what I was looking for. Space saving and Good price.It’s so wonderful to finally not have my dryer leaking hot air out into our house!!! 😄👏🙌

The perfect solution to getting the dryer as close to the wall as possible without crushing the flexible duct when the wall connection was offset a foot to the side from the dryer outlet. I bought two of these and placed one on the dryer and one on the wall outlet. Four worm drive 4.5" clamps were used. Heavy duty aluminum flex duct was placed between them. These elbows easily turn after the clamps are tightened. Each was pointed upwards at about a 45 degree angle and the duct installed in a loop, not straight between the two, because there was no room to reach the clamps from the sides of the dryer. We installed one elbow with flex duct on it to the wall outlet first, then next installed the other elbow onto the back of the dryer before we slid it into the closet. The "trick" was figuring out how to get the other end of the flex duct attached to the dryer elbow. Fortunately, we had a skinny workman who could literally climb over the back of the dryer after tightening the final clamp in order to get out of the tiny laundry closet. The outside of the wall elbow was only 5.5" from the wall after the installation, which allowed just enough space to get the clamp on. The back of the dryer was 18" from the wall until the final clamp was tightened, but the loop in the flex duct allowed us to push the dryer to 5;5" from the wall after the workman was out. Because these elbows are quite a bit stronger than using just flex duct, we are sure the tenant will not crush the dryer hose by attempting to push the dryer closer to the wall, which was our main concern with this installation. Using these smooth elbows gave minimal resistance to airflow, as observed by looking a the exhaust hood flap that was all the way open. An expensive solution to a simple problem, but one that will allow access to the back of the dryer for future maintenance, while assuring the duct does not get crushed..

Quality construction and fits perfectly. Well, it’s made with whirlpool brand on it! Few installations can avoid a hard 90 degree bend in the exhaust duct. This always is a potential crush point . This elbow eliminates that and rotates to allow easy routing of duct.
