Frommer's Costa Rica (Complete Guide) Paperback – March 14, 2023

This book was GREAT in helping me figure out where I want to go and what I want to do. Of course, I supplemented with online reviews and blogs/groups. But this was the perfect start to planning the vacation. Love the color pictures and the tear out map.

Great pictures and lots of information. The text of book is very nice and easy to read. Not a cheaply made book at all and was worth purchasing. It also has beautiful pictures and the book includes maps. 10/10

Having never been to Costa Rica before we wanted to pick up a book to educate ourselves. This book is awesome, even came with a little map.

I visited Costa Rica about 20 years ago, want to go again, and bought this book as an update to my 1999 guidebook. I travel a lot, own 30-40 guidebooks and really like this 2023 publication.The book is well organized and well written, with lots of helpful comments and suggestions. The color photos are excellent and helped me visualize many of the sights the authors describe.I appreciate Frommer’s use of 1, 2 or 3 stars to indicate their relative rankings of different items.And I like their cross references, where they often provide page numbers next to items (e.g. in Best of or Suggested Itinerary sections) to indicate where you can find additional information about that item.I am impressed with the 2023 Frommer’s Costa Rica guidebook and recommend that you buy it if you are going to go to Costa Rica.

I don't usually use this travel guide but my usual was not available. Most of the information is tourist attractions, hotels, and restaurants. I was disappointed at the lack of supplemental cultural and historical information.

Very detailed information on the entire country, broken down by areas/Province. We went to the Southern Caribbean coast. The recommendations for beaches, parks, restaurants & local activities were wonderful & spot on. They were NOT JOKING when they said that driving here is NOT for the faint of heart! ESPECIALLY at night. Pedestrians in dark clothes, bikes with no reflectors, motorcycles, dogs & Tuk-Tuks everywhere. So, I’d tended to believe the book when it gave a recommendation OR a warning. Lol! Very helpful!! I’ll definitely use more of these Frommer’s guide books for my travels.

Great travel book, found it to be pretty accurate for my June 2023 trip and I used a lot of recs for restaurants and hotels from this book. The pull out map is also a plus. Definitely recommend.
