I had a previous version of this, it lasted for about five years of regular use before I accidentally threw it out a window (it slipped off the windowsill, and in trying to catch it I instead just open-handed served it). Before it's unfortunate defenestration, it was in perfect working order. It may still be, I never recovered it.I was unhappy that this replacement is more expensive, but on receiving it I realised it was totally worth it. The quality is better, the shaver feels more solid, the sliding power switch has been replaced by a soft-touch button, it's now water resistant and can be used in the shower or rinsed off (which is extremely helpful for an item used to shave hair, makes cleaning a lot easier), and the interchangeable graded combs feel far more sturdy and secure on the shaver head. The weight is good, it doesn't feel cheap.It cuts really well, for hair on the head, face, body, or more sinister places. One of the combs is labelled "intimate", and the packaging has a guy clearly aiming it at his playpark, but I've no idea how it functions any differently from the others, shave as I might.Haven't charged it yet, despite moderate use since buying a couple of weeks ago. Battery life seems great so far.I've noticed some reviews claiming it's shipped with a plug unsuitable for use in the UK. It's funny that this needs pointed out, but rest assured, this electric shaver comes with an electric shaver plug. Yes, a standard electric shaver plug. The kind you plug into those low-voltage sockets in hotel bathrooms, the only kind of socket ever found in a bathroom because of safety standards. The same plug you'd find on an electric toothbrush. If you want to use it with a UK three-pin socket, or any socket not a low voltage shaver socket, you'll need a standard shaver-to-three-pin adapter, the kind you likely have for any previous shavers or electric toothbrushes.In short, really pleased with this. Recommended.

Great bit of essential kit for men. It’s very light to hold and very ergonomic, fitting perfectly in the hand. The blade attachments for “delicate areas” are spot on! Tried so many other brands and still ended up with painful cuts to the family jewels! I always dreaded shaving “downstairs” for this reason! Attachments are perfect for length adjustments and the battery life is impressive.

Works as expected but charger is not UK plug so you will need to get an adapter to get it charged. Attachments have smooth edges and main unit is compact.

Bought this as a back up for my larger Braun trimmer. It’s a very capable little item. Performs brilliantly with all the accessories. Is now my number one trimmer.

Tried various cheaper beard trimmers they never last more than a year as the batteries die. This one is powerful and a charge lasts ages, worth the money

I do not know what is wrong with this trimmer as it cuts completely uneven on the head. I assume that the adjustable trimmerhead for 3-12mm has just too narrow guides and is not taken the hair in as easy as my £10 trimmer. Total waste of money and now have to pay a hairdresser to see what he can save.I used the repair option but the unit came back with the message that it works like normal. Still the cutting of head hair is extremely poor, DO NOT BUY
