HM Digital Com-300 Ph/Tds/EC/Temp Meter

This product is perfect and deserved of a 5 star review except one small oversight. There is no reason for an instrument of this caliber to not have a backlit screen. I'm not sure how I over looked this detail. Excels at everything as advertised. Worth the money and I will be keeping it until I find a suitable backlit replacement. Dang.

I like this meter as it's easy to use and has the functions I need in one meter. The one drawback is that there is no backlight to the screen, so if you're not in optimal lighting, it is hard to read. If it had a backlight it would be 5 start perfect.

Quick response & accuracy

It has stopped working about three months after purchase. It always had problems where it would freeze and I would have to remove the batteries and reinstall them. No support response from the company.

I ordered this meter -- the 300 model that measures both PH and dissolved solids -- earlier this year. Unfortunately, I was shipped the 100 model, which only measures dissolved solids. I didn't realize that, however, until I opened and threw away the package and other materials.I'm ordering another one now, but it was an expensive error.I believe it was a simple mistake -- both mine and the seller's -- but the two meters look very similar and it's easy to miss until you put the meter in the water and realize it doesn't measure PH.As for the 100 model, I like it and am okay having a second meter to validate my primary one. I will update this review after the 300 is delivered and I compare it with my Blue Lab monitor's readings.

This product works as advertised and excels at it's job with one exception which is if you need to replace the sensor you can only buy it directly from the manufacturer because no one else sells it and in fact HM Digital doesn't even sell the replacement sensor at their own Amazon store.
