amazing bin - just get it when its on offer because who wants to spend that full price on anything aye?there are reviews that say "the lid doesn't stay open for long enough" - ignore these reviews and simply read the instructions, alternativly listen to me and press the button on the right hand side, I havent specifically timed this but it stays open for about 2 or 3 minutes when you click the button, after that click the left hand button to close it again or wait for a few minutes.senser is used if your just throwing general rubbish away like we know we all do. opens and closes every times.some reviews say "bin lid doesnt open all the way" - dont be lazy and check there is no debris in the way of the cog at the back.. yknow.. the mechanism that OPENS THE LID ALL THE WAY.otherwise... its a bin ..

Good size

Pretty mirrored lid. Works as an ordinary bin where you lift the lid manually without batteries. Or you can add four AA batteries and let the sensors do the work. After struggling with a 40 litre swing top that kept sticking and seemed to get all sorts of hard to clean gunk on the external surface of the lid this is nice. It lifts up and stays up instead of swinging down and in. I can fling rubbish and scrape plates without getting stuff on the lid. On top of that it is easy to wipe clean. I'm enjoying the capacity too after my smaller 40 litre bin.EDIT:I purchased this in February, I use it quite a lot daily. The batteries were inserted back in February, it is now June and the original batteries are still going strong.Just thought I'd say, since I read a load of reviews before I purchased that complained about battery life.

When I initially bought the bin, me and my partner loved it! I even recommended it to my parents, who also purchased one after.After a couple of months, in both mine and my parents examples, the plastic backing for the batteries came off and the batteries fell into the bin, and the backing plastic was lost amongst the rubbish. As a result the batteries put in since will always inevitably fall out, and you end up with a bin lid that doesn't work - and the only way to put things into the bin is to take the entire lid off.I contacted the supplier and they are unable to provide or sell replacements for the backing. We're going back to a normal peddle bin now. Honestly guys, save yourselves the money; the battery casing will eventually fall in and you'll be in the same scenario as us.

I loved it so much that I bought a second one, so I can have both the general waste and the recycle bag, and they look so fancy in my kitchen. If you don't put batteries in, you can still open it manually with no effort and the opening/closure will be soft.

Great bin

I really like my bin looks great in my kitchen with the black and copper theme. When bin gets full very easy to remove the bin bag and replace it. It is light in weight but sturdy enough. The lid opens and shuts well. It has a nice shape as well fits into my corner well.
